History of the Vineyard


The varieties planted at Traawool are shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, nebbiolo, viognier and merlot. The viognier and merlot are young vines and will not be producing until 2008-2009. Cane and bunch thinnning ensure low tonnages of premium quality grapes and organic sprays are predominantly used.

  2004 Cabernet Sauvignon

Fermented in oak tubs and aged in French oak for 18 months, this wine has a spicy bouquet. This intensely rich wine has a long palate with cherry, blackberry and chocolate flavours. With its fine tannin structure this superb example of one of the world’s classic grapes will continue to develop in the bottle for at least 15 years. This wine is lovely to drink now and will also age well for several years.
  2004 Shiraz
$20 / bottle
$240 / dozen		 Aged in French oak for 18 months, this wine has an intense colour with a strong bouquet of blackberries. It has a very long palate with strong berry and pepper flavours. The wine is beautiful to drink now and will age well for several years.
